At a recent Fairview City Council meeting, the CoServ Charitable Foundation (CCF) provided a $20,000 grant for the purchase of three laptops and software for emergency response vehicles to improve response time and to secure vital information while on the scene of an emergency.
Fire Chief Richard Price stated, “The laptops will be equipped with cellular wireless data cards, mapping software, Internet access and GPS units for routing. Fairview is a member of the Department of Homeland Security’s ePlan program which allows qualified emergency responders access to hazardous materials information anywhere in the country. The program requires Internet access and the CoServ grant will allow us to better serve the community.”
Dennis Engelke, CCF Grants Committee Member: “The partnership formed through this grant demonstrates the mutual concern for public safety between the Fairview Fire Department and CoServ. Access to vital information and the ability to improve communications efficiencies are critical in saving lives and property.” Paul Kennedy, Director of Construction and Operations for CoServ Gas, along with Dennis, attended the City Council Meeting and presented the donation check to Fairview Mayor Sim Israeloff.
Since its inception in 2004, the CoServ Charitable Foundation has donated more than $1,000,000 in grants and donations to support social, charitable and civic programs in the community. These contributions are examples of how “Operation Roundup®” dollars are used. Through this initiative, participating members’ and customers’ monthly CoServ bills are rounded up to the nearest dollar, and the extra change is used by the foundation.
CoServ Electric, a distribution cooperative headquartered in Corinth, serves approximately 115,000 member-owners by providing electric service through more than 135,000 meters in parts of six counties of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. CoServ Gas services more than 52,000 gas meters in four counties. CoServ’s vision is to be trusted to consistently exceed members' and customers’ expectations for safety, reliability, service, value and community support.
