CoServ Charitable Foundation donates $16,150 to Volunteer Services Council of Denton State School

On September 11, the CoServ Charitable Foundation (CCF) provided a $16,150 grant to the Volunteer Services Council of Denton State School to purchase an emergency rescue vehicle for the Security Department.

Lisa Hall, Assistant Director of Community Relations for the Denton State School explained, “The Security Department patrols the Denton State School campus for security purposes, transports clients to the infirmary and responds to medical emergencies. The current vehicle is in poor condition and unreliable. The CoServ Charitable Foundation grant to purchase a new emergency vehicle fulfills a critical function to preserve life on our campus.”

CoServ CCF Board Member Jim Chism stated, “The Volunteer Services Council is dedicated to recognizing the needs and locating resources to support the clients and facilities of the Denton State School. The CoServ Charitable Foundation is pleased to partner with the Council to provide a vehicle in order to insure the continued availability of vital emergency services.”

Since its inception in 2004, the CoServ Charitable Foundation has donated more than $1,000,000 in grants and donations to support social, charitable and civic programs in the community. These contributions are examples of how “Operation Roundup®” dollars are used. Through this initiative, participating members’ and customers’ monthly CoServ bills are rounded up to the nearest dollar, and the extra change is used by the foundation.
