CoServ Charitable Foundation donates $15,436 grant to Bartonville Police Department

On September 10, the CoServ Charitable Foundation (CCF) provided a $15,436 grant to the Bartonville Police Department to purchase mobile digital computers for police vehicles.

At the donation ceremony, Bartonville Police Chief Howell stated, “Sixteen police departments, including the Bartonville Police Department, and 12 fire districts rely on the Denton County Sheriff’s Office for dispatch services. The three radio channels used to dispatch calls are crowded with radio traffic. Officers must wait for a chance to ’break in’ to make notification to the dispatcher.  The mobile digital computers will enhance officer safety and efficiency during ‘in progress situations.’ The ability to complete reports in the field increases police visibility and reduces response times for emergency calls.”

CoServ Electric’s Director of Member and Employee Relations Dennis Engelke commented, “The dynamic growth in southern Denton County and an increased need for public safety services lead to the creation of the newly founded Bartonville Police Department.  The CoServ Charitable Foundation grant will allow the department to expedite the purchase of this important communications equipment in order to deliver critical safety services.”
