CCF celebrates with the Amercian Red Cross Denton Branch

The CoServ Charitable Foundation (CCF) joined the American Red Cross (ARC) this week in commemorating their newly renovated office location for the ARC Denton Branch.  The new office offers improved workspace for staff and volunteers, a classroom for training, and more importantly, increased storage for preparedness and relief supplies.

The CEO of the Dallas ARC, Cheryl Sutterfield-Jones, and Jim Durham, Branch Manager, cut the purple ribbon surrounded by ARC employees and volunteers, CCF board members, first responders, and other community supporters. At the ribbon cutting, Ms. Sutterfield-Jones thanked CCF for the $18,500 donation that covered the cost of the office renovation. CCF Grants Committee Member Dennis Engelke proudly stated, “The Denton Branch of the ARC serves 32 communities and an area of 944 square miles. The CCF grant helps the organization with disaster relief and military services as well as teach water safety, first aid, CPR and safety classes.” CoServ Gas Executive Vice President &as General Manager and CCF Grants Committee Member Don Leverty, CCF Board Member Vaughn Andrus, and CCF Grants Committee Member Chad Gilbert also attended the ceremony as representatives of CoServ.

CCF was founded in 2004, and the ARC is one of many worthy organizations that has benefited from CoServ’s commitment to community support. The majority of CCF funding is generated by the “Operation Roundup®” program, whereby participating members’ and customers’ monthly CoServ bills are rounded up to the nearest dollar, and CoServ employees contribute by payroll deduction. More than $1.1 million has been returned to the community in donations and grants since 2005.  In fact, every penny of donated funds is returned to the community in donations and grants, and any administrative costs of supporting the CCF are covered by CoServ Electric.
