The CoServ Charitable Foundation recently approved a $10,921 grant that allows the Justin Police Department to purchase automatic external defibrillators (AEDs).
The Foundation’s funding is largely generated by monthly contributions from CoServ Electric members, CoServ Gas customers, and CoServ employees who donate to a program called Operation Roundup®. Funding for first-responder organizations is a priority for the CoServ Charitable Foundation, and we are committed to supporting our local police and fire departments’ need to enhance their public safety services. The use of AEDs has been proven to increase the survival rate with cardiac arrest, and reducing the amount of time between collapse and treatment is a crucial link. Therefore, the Foundation’s board feels that the grant supporting the purchase of the devices for the Justin Police Department has significant merit. These lifesaving devices will equip the department’s patrol cars and one will be placed in the Justin City Hall. Training for use of the AEDs will be conducted cooperatively with the Justin Fire Department.
Thanks to CoServ Electric members’, CoServ Gas customers’, and CoServ employees’ contributions, the Justin Police Department’s public servants will be equipped to take quick action that saves lives.
