CCF grant supports upgrade of Sanger pumper truck

The CoServ Charitable Foundation recently approved a $25,000 grant for the upgrade of the main pumper truck for the Sanger Fire Department. The City of Sanger is a small, growing community in the CoServ Electric service area that is located approximately 12 miles north of the City of Denton.

Sanger recently experienced large amounts of growth, and with the nation’s changing economics and Sanger’s added infrastructure growth due to the costs of new electrical lines, water pipes, sewer systems and a paid police department, Sanger is facing yet another year with a strained fire department budget. Call volume has increased every year for the past five years, and mutual aid agreements are demanding more from first responders.

With this donation, the pumper unit upgrade will enhance the department’s emergency response efforts in Sanger and their neighboring mutual aid cities, which includes 20 other fire departments of various sizes in Denton County as well.
