The CoServ Charitable Foundation (CCF) recently provided a grant of $15,000 to the Assistance League of Greater Collin County. The donation will be used to provide clothing and a hygiene kit for elementary school children in need The program, Operation School Bell®, provides clothing to 250 children within the Allen, Frisco, McKinney and Plano school districts.
“This program has helped our students have a positive attitude toward school and be able to break down social barriers,” Cynthia Esparza, Community Resource Specialist, Bright Elementary School in Frisco said. “Many of the families we serve are unable to provide the necessary clothing needed for school due to crisis in the family and/or limited income.”
Assistance League of Greater Collin County is a nonprofit, nonpolitical, nonsectarian charitable organization whose goal is assisting people in Collin County. Their philanthropic programs touch the lives of the young, the elderly, the hospitalized and the grieving. Their all-volunteer staff gives their time to perform the Assistance League’s philanthropic and fundraising work.
“The CCF enjoys its partnership with Operation School Bell,” CCF Executive Director Dennis Engelke said. “Our CoServ members and customers will be pleased to know that the Assistance League has no paid staff, only volunteers; meaning that every dollar of this grant will go to help children.”
